What do you need?

Here are the main elements your file must demonstrate to maximize your chances of obtaining residence as a person with private income:

  • Sufficient means of subsistence: you must prove regular income of at least €2,000/month, as well as available funds in a current account.
  • Transferability of income: funds received abroad must be easily transferable to Belgium.
  • No gainful activity: you must not hold a job or manage a business in Belgium.
  • Health insurance: comprehensive health coverage is required for the entire duration of stay.
  • Ties with Belgium: this can include real estate purchase, presence of a local network, friends or family in the area.
  • Serious references: statements from family, friends, or professionals established in Belgium strengthen your application’s credibility.

The clearer your situation and stronger your resources, the more likely the administration is to grant you residence.
